The Stanford Pioneers Pledge

The Pioneers Pledge is a non-binding agreement that signals your intent to support the university through your business success. It signals your commitment to Stanford and inspires others to do the same.

We welcome anyone who considers themselves a pioneer: entrepreneurs, founders, early employees, other innovators. You do not have to be an alumnus of the university.

No. Signing the pledge does not require a specific dollar amount or equity percentage commitment. When the time is right, you can make a gift that feels significant to you. We’ll provide more information about any applicable gift policies at that time.

You also don’t need to decide how you want to designate your pledge until you make a gift. This way, we can help you explore areas of interest across Stanford and help you achieve your philanthropic goals.

There are no tax implications until you sign a gift agreement. At that time, we can help you figure out the best way to move forward, depending on your unique circumstances. 

You become part of a special community of entrepreneurs who are not only building some of the world’s most innovative businesses, but also care deeply about Stanford. You’ll receive information about events and research that we believe would be of interest to this community, and you’ll have a point of contact who can help you discover new interests and connect with your fellow pioneers.
